POEMS
I'm a writer. I write poems. Here are some of them.
SHE
Locked in a little home,
Far away from the prying eyes of the world
Hidden away like a treasure
Never to be seen or heard
They thought they were protecting her
Keeping her away from everyone's reach
But, how they were killing her
Sealed every little wall she could breach
She never knew of the existence of everything else
The rivers, the trees, the mountains, the sea
Not even a window, what if she was seen!
She had heard the sound of the rain, never laid eyes on its glowing sheen
She herself didn't know how she felt
But she knew there was a world outside
The doors she wished she could open
They were always bolted, she had to stay inside
They thought it was the right thing
They thought they were caring
Yet the scars they left on her
The life, the freedom they took away from her being
Oh, how she suffered!
Her life wasn't her own!
If you don't let her know the world,
What's the point of protecting her from the unknown?
The fault is not hers
The fault is the world's!
She deserves her life
Not a prison in the woods...
So, let her be free
Let her learn, let her be
Your hindering shackles are killing her slowly
Let her wings unfurl, let her be she!
Holding her back to protect ruins her
It wastes her life, her potential, her zeal
She deserves to live, to fly!
So don't stop her, let her see!
Let her climb to the top
Crush all her naysayers
She is strong, she is a power
She will go where they said they wouldn't take her
She can, and she will
That is she!
